POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  1. Proven track record in various financial areas such as general accounting, cost accounting, financial planning, revenue cycle operations, policy development, and financial information systems.
  2. Demonstrated experience in strategic operations analysis and planning, analytical techniques, financial and market assessments.
  3. Experience with global consolidations and operations; exposure to multi-national corporation finance and tax issues.
  4. Legal and SEC (IPO and Sarbanes-Oxley) experience.
  5. Documented success in executing IPO transactions.
  6. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex organizational initiatives and change efforts.
  7. Proven ability to provide professional/technical guidance to stakeholders.
  8. Superior communication, consulting, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management, problem resolution, and consensus building skills.
  9. Excellent written/verbal presentation and listening skills, and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  10. Expert knowledge in managing various technical accounting systems.
  11. Experience developing effective income tax planning strategies.
  12. Working knowledge of toy and/or fast moving consumer goods industries.
  13. Education: BS degree in business, accounting, or finance. MBA preferred.
  14. Experience: Minimum15 years of progressive experience in financial management, including senior leadership experience.
  15. CPA preferred.
  16. Experience and comfort working with founder-led organization highly desirable.
  17. M&A experience a plus.

Function:

  • Reports to the CEO
  • Manages all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax and treasury.
  • Serves on the Executive Committee.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Manage development/implementation of strategic business plan, budgets, and forecasts
    1. Manage annual 5/10-year Strategic Planning process culminating in presentations to the leadership team.
    1. Provide strategic leadership for financial planning using business insight and operational understanding.
    1. Manage departmental SG&A budgets and review with department heads on quarterly basis.
  1. Manage financial reporting, accounting budget, credit, insurance, tax reporting and treasury/cash management functions
  2. Develop and recommend optimal financing for internal projects or acquisitions.
  3. Influence major investments, contracts, and other financial decisions to improve cash flows and reduce costs.
  4. Approve and release monthly financial packages within two weeks of month-end, including variance analysis vs. budget and previous year.
  5. Develop a reporting system to measure profitability by product or product line consistent with the organization.
  6. Project cash and debt requirements.
  7. Maintain company scorecard- P&L and Working Capital KPI’s
  1. Develop and implement financial controls and policies
  2. Review and update existing policies and procedures; ensuring they are implemented and communicated companywide.
  3. Develop a 3-year plan to set internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404.
  4. Ensure that all company employees adhere to company financial policies and procedures.
  1. Facilitate outside audit, corporate insurance and tax relations
  2. Negotiate and manage outside auditor tax relationships and fees.
  3. Manage domestic and international bank relationships
  4. Periodically review the company credit needs.
  1. Lead Initial Public Offering (IPO) or other Capital-Raising Strategy
    1. Develop a comprehensive IPO readiness program including board governance, corporate policies, IT systems, financial reporting, planning and forecasting and internal controls.
    1. Establish, evaluate and recommend alternative capital-raising strategies.
    1. Design, lead and execute strategy details.
  1. Develop and lead teams
    1. Ability to motivate, develop and train the Finance, Accounting and IT teams to achieve benchmarked forecasted goals.
    1. Educating staff of accounting regulation changes to ensure compliance with mandated laws.  
    1. Guide and advise senior leadership team through financial change processes.
    1. Evaluating and implementing internal accounting controls as needed
